I live in Carlsbad New Mexico where Mental health services are very scarce. I contacted Nirvana health in Roswell, NM to try and get help that I desperately need. I spoke directly to Ayanna Williams who helped schedule my appointment. When I asked her if I would recieve a confirmation or phone call to remind me she assured me I would before My appointment. I never received an email or a phone call from anyone after the fact. I did miss my appointment, and that is my fault. Part of the reason I am seeking help is because I desperately need help with managing my treatment, as well as help with ptsd, bipolar, and recently the loss of a child. Upon speaking to Ayanna Williams when I called today to reschedule, she came off as very rude and upset that I missed my appointment and refused to reschedule because I am on medicaid and she wouldn't be able to get the 100 dollar no show fee. She did however rudely suggest I walk in her office and try to be seen if I could but that she would not put me on the schedule again. I live almost 2 hours away and I feel this is discrimination against people who do not have commercial insurance therefore making a pay day for her when there is a no show. I completely take responsibility for missing my appointment however I feel the need to put it out there that this Ayanna Williams should not be helping anyone who suffers from any type of mental illness. What has Mental healthcare come to? I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. And mind you I only missed 1 appointment.
