What are PRP facials?

PRP facials use the innovation of modern medicine to vastly improve the look and health of your skin. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, a serum made from your own blood that contains a high concentration of platelets. 

Platelets are a primary component in blood. They help with blood clotting and wound healing. They contain compounds that are vital to tissue regeneration and cellular repair. 

During a PRP facial, your technician cleanses, extracts, exfoliates, and applies nourishing serums. Included in the facial is the application of PRP, which accelerates healing. 

What are the effects of PRP facials?

Your provider may also inject the PRP much like they do dermal fillers or Botox®.

How soon will I see the effects of a PRP facial?

You’ll notice a more glowing and refreshed complexion within a few days of your PRP facial. The full effects appear after several weeks when the cells, tissue, and collagen have a chance to develop. 

Most people benefit from a series of treatments scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. After that, periodic maintenance PRP facials help you keep a glowing, youthful complexion. 

Will I need to schedule downtime following a PRP facial?

Immediately after the facial, expect some redness, swelling, and possible light bruising at any injection sites. You don’t have to schedule official downtime, but you may choose to lay low as these side effects subside.
